Coin Purse, Attempt #1

These are pics of my first attempt at making a coin purse. I have needed a coin purse for some time but could never find one that I felt was really "me." I had no idea initially how to work with the zipper and ended up destroying 2 of those suckers before finally getting close to right. I could have consulted the internet or something but what fun would that have been? Sorry about the blurry pics. I was in a hurry and it was terribly overcast today so I didn't fuss with lighting like I normally would have.

Adventures in tote bags, Thursday edition

I love this bag! The handles are sturdier than version 1.0 and I did a much better job with the stitching around the top edge. It will be hard to part with this bag but I think it will have to go in my shop. Another good thing is that the time it took to make this bag compared to the first decreased significantly.

Tote bag 2.0 this time lined with pretty pink fabric. This one is also reversable but I don't know why you would want to hide this fantastic flower print.

This tote is fully lined with contrasting black material. It wasn't until this morning that I realized that it is totally reversable. Two totes in one.

Book Purses

I have been saying for a few weeks that I will be adding purses made from books to my shop. If you look at my shop (please!) you will see that they are not there. It's not that I don't have them done, it's because I'm nervous about posting them. I guess I'm too much of a perfectionist. Here is a special sneak preview of two of the book purses that I have completed.

I did it again. Friday night one of my pieces was chosen to be featured on the Etsy homepage. It was up all day Saturday and doubled the hits on the bracelet. Sometimes it really pays to be in the chatrooms.

Aw Hail!

This is a picture I took tonight of the biggest hail I have ever seen in my life. This stuff littered my front yard and pelted my VW Beetle. When it was falling it was the loudest, scariest storm I've been through in a long, long time.

What I'm working on now

I just finished putting together 2 new sets of magnets that I will hopefully be able to put on my shop tomorrow. If I were playing Trivial Pursuit right now both sets of magnets would belong in the "sports & leisure" category. I've also been very busy knitting a scarf and a shawl (yes, simultaneously...I'm just that good) by special request from Draco. Both are like the lettuce scarf that made it to the Etsy homepage a few weeks ago (check below for a pic) but this new scarf is pink instead of green. I've never made a shawl before so it is a little slow going but progress is definitely being made. I switch to the scarf when I need a bit more instant gratification. Twelve or fourteen stitches wide goes much quicker than 60+ stitches! I have to watch TV while I knit so thankfully there has been a Project Runway marathon on all day. I only started watching at the very tail end of this season so catching up on the episodes and contestants that I missed has been very entertaining. I'm off now for I must keep knitting!
